Important Notice
Due to circumstances beyond our control Compz is no longer operational, and we
apologise for the short notice given for this sudden change. To maintain service
for existing Compz clients they have been transferred to a new service provided
by Rod Tallowin. Whilst we have contacted all clients and
arranged a smooth switch over for most of them, some of you may not have
responded to us in time.
If you are finding that you no longer have service
please contact Rod Tallowin on 01728 861228 or 07733 064193 or by email at rod@tallowin.com and we will aim to
reconnect you as soon as we can.
It may simply be that for your email you need to change the incoming and outgoing mail servers from mail.compz.net to mail.[yourDomainName]. i.e. for ActonPrimarySchool.org.uk the mail servers will change from mail.compz.net to mail.actonprimaryschool.org.uk In addition you need to ensure that the Outgoing Server option (in Outlook) for "My Outgoing (smtp) server requires Authentication" is ticked
If you are still experiencing problems visit the Tallowin website for further information
The cost of the new service will be £60 p.a for basic web hosting and £10 p.a.
per standard mailbox, with discounts available for multiple mailboxes. For
existing users there will be a small token transfer fee of £15

Email Announcement
I am contacting you on behalf of Andy Woollard at Compz Ltd as either your DNS, website, email or all three are hosted with them. For the past 7 years, since moving from Debenham, the Compz servers have been located at the Royal Hospital School in Holbrook, Suffolk. For various reasons Compz will cease operating from the school in about 2 weeks time, and as a result of this change the owners of the business have decided to close down completely.
This means that you will need to move either or both your web hosting and email services elsewhere. As I understand it, you have not been charged for web hosting or email servers by Compz during the time that the hosting has been carried out from the Royal Hospital School. This however will need to change.
Although I myself ceased working in the internet industry in May of this year, with the aim of focusing on the training company (www.pennyparks.eu) I am a part of, I am helping Andy sort things out at Compz, and neither of us like to let people down. Consequently I am looking at the best solution to resolving these issues. You obviously have the choice of setting up your own hosting and email services elsewhere, but I am also considering a solution which might suit everyone. Either way, there will, however, be a cost involved. For the solution I am looking at this is likely to be in the region of £75 p.a. per website plus £10 p.a. per email address, all yet to be confirmed, and depending on the service level required.
At this point in time I would just like your feedback on whether you would wish to pursue your own website and email hosting options or wish me to sort out something for you.
To give you a comparison, there is another website hosting company whom we used to deal with, Aspects.net in Colchester who would charge £100 p.a. for website hosting plus £10/£25 p.a. per email address depending on the type of email, plus a £15 set-up fee if the domain registration was not transferred to them. Another option is 123-reg which is cheaper, but has restrictions and you would need to manage it yourself. If it helps in your decision, I had my own email and websites with Compz but am in the process of moving them to the company I am considering moving you to as well, if you wish to join me.
At this stage, in order for me to evaluate whether the solution I am considering will be a viable option, all I need is an indication of which option you would prefer: for me to sort out your web-hosting/email; or for you to do it yourselves.
In view of the relatively short time we have to sort this out I would appreciate a response as soon as possible.
Thanks & Regards
Rod Tallowin
